When Do You Need AC Installation?
Common scenarios where air conditioning becomes essential
New Home or Renovation
Building a new home or renovating an existing one is the perfect time to install air conditioning. Pre-planning the piping routes during construction significantly reduces installation costs and ensures a cleaner aesthetic result with concealed cable runs.
Replacing an Old Unit
If your existing AC is over 10 years old, it likely uses outdated R-22 refrigerant (now banned under EU regulations) and consumes far more electricity than modern inverter units. Upgrading to a new system can cut energy consumption by 40-60% while providing better comfort.
Heatwave Preparation
Hungarian summers regularly exceed 35 degrees C, and heatwaves are becoming more frequent and intense. Installing AC before the peak season means you avoid long waiting times and can enjoy comfortable indoor temperatures from the first hot day onward.
Office & Workplace Comfort
Studies consistently show that workplace productivity drops significantly when indoor temperatures rise above 25 degrees C. Providing a comfortable working environment is not just a perk but a measurable business investment that improves employee output and satisfaction.
Health & Air Quality
Modern AC systems do more than cool the air. They filter dust, pollen, and airborne particles, making them beneficial for allergy sufferers and people with respiratory conditions. Many premium units also include ioniser and antibacterial filter technology for cleaner indoor air.
Regulatory Compliance
Why F-Gas certification matters for your installation
Air conditioning systems use fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases) as refrigerants. Under European Union law, specifically the EU Regulation 517/2014 on F-Gases, only certified technicians are permitted to install, service, or decommission equipment containing these substances. This regulation was introduced to control the use of high global-warming-potential gases and phase down their consumption across Europe.
All of our technicians hold the F-Gas Category I certification, which is the highest level available. This means they are qualified to handle any quantity of refrigerant and work on systems of any size. Choosing an uncertified installer not only risks a substandard job but can void your manufacturer warranty and may result in fines under Hungarian environmental law.
We also ensure that every installation complies with local building regulations, including proper outdoor unit placement, noise limits, and condensate drainage requirements. When you receive your handover documentation, it includes the F-Gas logbook entry, which is a legal requirement for systems containing 5 tonnes of CO2 equivalent or more.
Energy efficiency labelling is another important consideration when choosing a new unit. The EU Energy Labelling system rates air conditioners from A+++ to D, and we always recommend units rated A++ or above for the best long-term savings.

Property
120 m² family home in Erd
System
Samsung Wind-Free multi-split
Duration
2 working days
This family home required cooling and heating for three rooms: a living room (35 m²), a master bedroom (18 m²), and a children's room (15 m²). We installed a Samsung multi-split system with one outdoor unit and three indoor Wall-mounted Wind-Free units. The outdoor unit was placed on the north-facing wall to minimise sun exposure and noise impact on neighbours.
Piping was routed through the attic to keep walls clean, and all penetrations were sealed and weatherproofed. The system was commissioned on the second day, and the homeowner received a full walkthrough of the remote control, WiFi app setup, and the scheduled timer functions. Total installation time: 2 days, with the family enjoying cool air on the evening of day two.
